Hi All,

Quick note to introduce myself as I have been swayed from purchasing a Mazda MPS3 to a MY06 WRX.

After initially looking at Subaru's and their associated insurance costs, I never really considered buying one until it became too difficult to find a nice MPS3.
After crumbling and taking a WRX for a test drive I have been converted and am a huge fan to the secure feeling you have when driving one, not to mention to performance, looks and sound!

The car is bog stock with 50,000kms on it and is still under the original owners extended warranty.
I plan on simply adding a K&N filter and removing the air resonator to create the natural spool and bov noise in addition to a cat back exhaust to bring out that fabulous Subaru burble!
That way the car will look and sound good, but remain legal.

If anyone has any tips on how to disable the anti hijack aspect of the alarm, as that is a bit tedious, but also best way to remove a mark on the material bit of the door trim and how to rejuvenate the headlights would be great!

Im looking forward to participating in a few cruises, but noticed that cruises are sort of frowned upon on this site, so any tips on that, feel free to PM me.

Few pics attached - Hopefully!

Attached File(s)

Not only do I have a WRX, but I also have 100 inches of pure joy!

Welcome to Rexnet!

S&J are the popular choice for performant parts & tuning.
If you're interested in cruises, try WRXSA.

Welcome Mate

There are a few different clubs in Adelaide, WRX SA, I knew a few of the guys there, they are an ok bunch of people.
There is the Mitsubishi GSR EVO Club I'm a current committee member with them.
There is one club I would steer clear of if I was you, PM if you want to know.

Headlights I would try a plastic polish, simple to use works well, I'm assuming they are a little yellow or "foggy"

Depends what the mark is...you could try a steam cleaner, or I know this sounds bad but work wonders, armor all, surface cleaner, a mate used some of his oily floor mats got the stain out - I was surprised.

Han
Why don't those stupid idiots let me in their crappy club for jerks

As for your Brant question:

Brant Alarm - Mode Settings
  • Exit countdown delay: This is when you turn your ignition off and the Brant keypad displays the * 7 4 1 flashing sequence. If your Brant keypad shows all the buttons lit when the ignition is turned off, your Brant is in "manual arming mode" and you will need to enter your pin code to go into "exit countdown delay" mode

  • To change any of the mode settings in the Brant alarm system, you need to first be in "exit countdown delay" and then press and hold one of the buttons until it stays on/lit:
    • Button 1 - places Brant into valet mode - 10 starts without entering key code
    • Button 2 - change from auto arming mode to manual arming mode
    • Button 3 - change from manual arming mode to auto arming mode
    • Button 4 - disables anti-hijack mode
    • Button 5 - enables anti-hijack mode
That's how the Brant modes are suppose to work, but on mine at least, button 4 and button 5 do nothing.
