Hey guys,

Did a bit of research and found that people had some good results after installing grounding kits on their cars. The theory is you get better idling and stronger lighting due to the car being well earthed. After installation i was very satisfied with result! The engine now idles much more smoother than it was, holds idle well even after a bit of hard driving and the sound system doesn't make the head lights flicker!
I also upgraded my battery terminals, wiring and put in a new battery.

To do this properly i purchased the following:

* Grounding kit from eBay or buy your own 4/6 gauge cabling
* 1/2 meter of ground wire (from autobarn)
* 1/2 meter of red power cable (from autobarn)
* Positive and negative battery terminals (from jay car)
* heavy duty cable fittings (super cheap auto)
* century battery (autobarn)

The installation is pretty straight forward.

For the battery terminals i just removed the old wiring measured, up the same length (i left a bit of slack) cut them all to size and fitted the ends. The positive terminal just goes to the starter motor and the ground just goes to the chassis of the car.

This is the kit i purchased from ebay:

The grounding points i used are:

* Both strut towers
* Manifold
* engine block
* chassis (Driver and passenger side)

Heres a few pictures of it installed:

Its very very easy to do hence why the write up isn't that detailed. Its a very overlooked mod i think as its easy to do yourself and a very cheap to complete.
You can install the grounding kit without upgrading the battery terminals and battery i just did everything at once because i was sick of looking at the old standard ones.

I noticed a difference after the install others may not but its still a worth while mod and it looks pretty cool in the engine bay!!

cheers.....

Enjoy!!!

:-( I Googled it and everything and the closest thing that came up was something to do with horse chariots.

Did you notice any of the following when installed?

- Improve throttle response
- Easier engine starts
- Smoother low & mid range torque
- Brighter head lamp
- Reduce electronic noise
- Better combustion efficiency

Thats what it says on ebay sounds like abit of bulldust!

Did you notice any of the following when installed?

- Improve throttle response - didnt really notice
- Easier engine starts- Possibly help but i put in a new battery so it starts perfectly
- Smoother low & mid range torque- idle is ALOT better than it was does feel a little smother
- Brighter head lamp- yes i did notice a change
- Reduce electronic noise- never had any
- Better combustion efficiency- how the hell do you determine that?

Thats what it says on ebay sounds like abit of bulldust!

The main reason i installed this grounding kit was because i read that it makes the cars idle more stable and i can definitely say it has done so.
i didnt believe the ad on ebay, i just did some forum searching and found the info through there...

Cost of installation:

battery terminals: $ 50 pair
grounding kit off ebay $35
new battery $130
new battery leads 1meter $20
cable fitting $8 for a pair

thats about it i think
