The Defi-Link series are the green ones. Defi BF are white with red needles and black faces Defi BF Amber are STi red with red needles (perfect match as Defi make the STi cluster) This is my current car. ![]() and to answer the questions from the other thread - personally, I much prefer electronic gauges and particularly daisy chained ones. The install is so much easier. you only tap power and lighting ONCE. The lighting levels are adjustable. Electronic will record data. Warning levels are easy to set. The daisy chain means it is also easy to add gauges as budget allows. Dude you are the guy im talking about... sorry! It was the post about the S203/204 interior. Where did you get the gauge holder for the instrument cluster? And are those 60mm gauges? Thanks for all the help with Defi by the way. Still cant find much info on green ones, but at least i know they are available... -------------------- ![]() Devin lies beyond this portal take the word of one immortal Give your soul to me For eternity release your life to begin another time with her End your grief with me there's another way release your life take your place inside the fire with her |

The gauge holder on the cluster surround - I made it. The clock replacement one is a Gruppe-S CF replica of the Defi pod.
There is a DIY for the cluster surround somewhere here. edit: found it http://www.rexnet.com.au/forum/index.php?showtopic=35996 -------------------- ace_eden@yahoo.com NO PMs

I've spoken to two people with the same setup as yours and one said the amber gauges in the centre pod are difficult to read because of the reflected glare on the screens and the other person said the opposite, no real problems at all. I don't know whether this difference could be due to them running different illumination settings, or eyesight, or what. (Both cars had no window tinting). Do you adjust your illumination settings for day and night use? I don't want to spend the big dollars on Defi amber gauges and then have probs quickly reading them on sunny days otherwise I'd just get a set of quality gauges with white faces and black numbers. The readability is exactly the same as the STi cluster.
The Defi BFs allow you to adjust the brightness for day and night separately. Same as how the cluster dims at night. I have 35% tint all round and a 5% strip across the windscreen top. -------------------- ace_eden@yahoo.com NO PMs

I've got an autometer boost gauge with the green backlight and havent had any issues with it (besides replacing the globe once which took 1 minute to do). It certainly doesnt look out of place against the standard green dials, although it doesnt match perfectly as the Defi's/Subaru have a black background with green text/increments whereas the autometer has a green backlight with the black text/increments..
I think the Defi's look awesome, but unfortunatley they are way too expensive for me. Personally I think its really disappointing that Defi are the only company making gauges with green dials that match the standard subaru dash. There would be such high demand for these sorts of gauges, especially with the popularity of the WRX and I cant believe that there arent any other companies making cheaper alternatives. There are plenty of alternatives with white/amber gauges, but nothing for the green besides Defi. -------------------- |

I have no idea why Subaru don't have a boost gauge standard full stop. They make an Outside Temp display which is pretty much useless but no boost.
Now if there was a way to change that to display boost, that would be a wicked DIY -------------------- |
