hey guys, im looking at some boost controllers for my 01 wrx before i have it tuned. My mods are 3" TBE, catless up-pipe and APS CAI. The ecu is a turboxs unichip from the states. My question is, wat sort of boost controller should i use? i have a bleed valve, but a bit reluctant to use it, as it doesnt make full boost is 1st gear and the boost progressively rises in each gear! wats the most cost effective way of controlling the boost on my car? my budget is under $400.

Thanks
Pete

mate grab one of these in the meantime:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Turbotech-manual-tu...1QQcmdZViewItem

fkn solid control, extremely fast spool and NO spiking or drop off in high revs/gears (day or night). i'm using one on my car until i do the ecu, dump, etc. this thing works great. i should try and take a video of how well this thing works..

otherwise i'll probably be getting one of these.. bit out of your budget, $480 delivered to melb, but apparently pretty good

or you could get the single solenoid version (solenoid's the only difference) for $361 delivered

yeh, i found a few in the states but still $400 2nd hand! im a bit sceptical spending that much on a 2nd hand item and not having warranty thats all! ive been doing some research on the boost controller alex posted and im impressed thus far...its got a good review in HOT4's on nissan skyline forums, also autospeed gives them a huge rap aswell. My mate just told me he bought one last week, so i might wack it on and give it a go before he puts it on his car and if all is well then i might just save the dosh buy one and spend the rest of the money on something else!

yeh it's doing a great job and i can hit full boost in 1st (wot to about 5-6k) dunno what rpm it hits full boost, but it does

i'll probably end up changing it because at the end of the day, it's still a mechanical controller and tricking the wastegate. i'd hate to see what happens if something fails
