AIRLIE BEACH MEGA CRUISE 2007


MAY 5th , 6th and 7th (Labour Day Long Weekend)


Airlie Beach is a large beachside community with lots of nice places to eat, sleep and play. Airlie is 590kms from Gladstone and 270km from Townsville. People cruising from Gladstone and Rocky or further south stopping over in Mackay on Saturday night. Driving on Sunday to meeet up with North Queensland drivers at Proserpine and then cruising on through to Airlie Beach for the night! Great drive!!

Need a place to stay at Airlie Beach book into the "Airlie Beach Motel" in the center of town, overlooks the ocean and town central. Has Undercover secure parking, a good bar, a couple of restaurants and pool. South Travellers book into Mackay hotels early as they get very busy on the weekends.

I Hope to add to this post on a more regular basis, please post your user name if you are going and I will update it. Last year was great 22 rides in total but it would be better if we could get a little more . Anyway here is a pic from last year at Peter Faust Dam compliments of Dennis

The more the merrier, Everyone is welcome. Last year we had people from Townsville, Ayre, Mackay, Rockhampton, Gladstone and Moranbah. It is a good drive from Brissy, I'm in Gladstone and last year we drove up to Rocky and joined up with them and then drove to Mackay and stayed the night at a motel, went out to dinner as a group. The next morning we met up with the Mackay group and drove to Proserpine, where we met up with the Townsville group. We then drove out to Peter Faust Dam for a group photo and a break before going onto Airlie Beach. At Airlie we stayed on overnight at the "Airlie Beach Hotel", which was great we had rooms close together and had a big piss up. Most people left to drive home the next day, some of us stayed on and went Quad bike riding and drove back the following day. Over all it is a great weekend!!
